Cairns refrigeration technician Jennah Halley won the Apprentice of the Year award at the Australian Training Awards 2022.
Jennah returned to work after 8 years as a single mum.
Her training journey started when her brother, who is also a refrigeration technician, asked her to help out for a few hours a week.
From there, Jennah’s interest in the industry grew. She completed her Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in 2021.
At the time, she was believed to be the only qualified female refrigeration technician in Cairns – a statistic she's hoping to help change.
