Every year we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women and girls across the state as part of Queensland Women’s Week.

The week is also a time to:

  • reflect on the work we all still need to do to achieve gender equality
  • raise awareness of issues impacting women
  • inspire action.

Our theme

In 2025 we held Queensland Women’s Week during the week of 2 to 9 March.

The theme for the week was March Forward.

This theme aligns with the UN Women International Women’s Day theme and celebrates the progress made by women who came before us, while recognising the work yet to come to achieve gender equality.

Themes for past QWWs have included:

  • 2024 - Count Her In
  • 2023 - Empower her voice; secure her future
  • 2022 - Keep Making Noise
  • 2021 - Celebrate our present. Own our future
  • 2020 - Celebrating our diverse community of strong women
  • 2019 - Invest in women. Invest in future
  • 2018 - Celebrate wellbeing. Everybody wins
  • 2017 - Be involved. Lead the way
  • 2016 - Good for her. Great for us. When women achieve, Queensland succeeds.
