I have worked in the lifting industry for some 25 years.

How did you get started?

I worked consistently with a large blue chip company, which in the end did not value my services. I started my own business six years ago with the dream of being of service to the mining industry, specifically in mines rescue. I felt there was a void in this service and I could be of assistance. Through hard work and being able to offer clients a solution to their individual site issues, the business has grown and services a wide variety of industry.

Being respected within an industry dominated by men.

Challenges the job presents

It is constant and hard work keeping abreast of the changes in equipment. Working in a demanding environment where time is money.

What you like most about your job

The satisfaction of solving a problem by being able to think outside the square and seeing our hard work pay off for our clients.

Typical day at work

Mainly on the phone with clients and discussing their needs and how to best match the wide variety of equipment to suit them.

Have a go. Never lie. Always do what you say you will do.
