How did you get started?

Commenced work experience at a mine site near Parkes NSW whilst in my first year of university. From there was employed at the end of my degree by Anna McMullen (Environment Manager).

Greatest professional achievement

Becoming a Female Superintendent at the age of 30 and being involved in a diverse project such as McArthur River Mine during the approvals process.

Challenges the job presents

Establishing a balance between HSE Management and other site objectives and targets.

What you like most about your job

The people that I have met, places that I have seen that not all Australians would see and the experience I have gained from working with extremely knowledgeable people.

Typical day at work

Commence at 5:30am provide HSE advice to personnel on site, plan for rehabilitation works, supervise personnel in the section, budgeting, attending meetings.

Advice for other women

Always remember where you came from (this was taught to me by a very special lady that I worked with at Northparkes Mines).
