Women into Building Housing Showcase
The Women into Building Housing Showcase is thought to be the first of its kind in Australia, and has been driven by builder, Samantha Sheppard, through her company The Buildmore Group.
The project commenced in October 2009 and enables women to participate in all facets of design, construction and marketing of a residential home in the Master Builder’s Display Village in Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast. Experienced women from the industry will act as mentors to the young women and apprentices participating in the project, and female students from local schools will be encouraged to visit the site.
The Office for Women is proud to support this innovative project aimed at raising awareness and acceptance of women who choose to work in the construction industry.
