Women and Superannuation – taking control of your future
The Australian Government’s Women and Superannuation – Taking Control of Your Future brochure assists women in understanding the government’s superannuation initiatives.
The topics in this brochure will have interest for a wide variety of women in their differing life circumstances and life stages.
Effectively communicating superannuation and financial literacy messages to women
Women have very different financial needs to men, and are more likely to require financial intervention or life-stage financial advice at various stages of their lives. In addition women access information differently to men and can respond differently to the same information.
The Commonwealth, States, Territories and New Zealand Ministers' Conference on the Status of Women (MINCO) has developed a discussion paper entitled Effectively communicating superannuation and financial literacy messages to women during their different life-stages and an accompanying summary guide entitled Your guide to effectively communicating superannuation and financial literacy messages to women.
These documents aim to assist a wide range of organisations in developing information about superannuation, including policy makers, community organisations and financial institutions by providing best-practice advice on how to better develop financial information specifically targeted at women.
The three-page summary guide and 32-page discussion paper are available for download:
